Stamford Hill stunned: 60 tires slashed

60 tires were slashed during the night (Monday), in East Stamford Hill neighborhood, in north London.

Hashomrim organization drive received several complaints from residents about their cars having slashed tires and the organization passed a call on the social network to approach the organization on the matter. Soon it became clear that about twenty cars were damaged and at least 64 tires were slashed.

Hackney district police chief in charge of the Stamford Hill neighborhood, said that 19 cars parked at the entrance of a house in Stamford Hill were damaged tonight, and that the suspect of the act was arrested, but he declined to provide further details on the incident or the motives of the suspect arrested.

Recently the number of anti-Semitic incidents in Stamford Hill increased to the point that they have become routine.

One of the functionaries of the neighborhood, said today to Behadrey Haredim: "We have the feeling that the police are trying to ignore the anti-Semitic incidents that happen here every day. It prefers to ignore and not punish in order not to break the delicate status quo prevailing here in Haredi neighborhoods between residents and Muslim neighbors, for fear of an outbreak.

"Events in which Muslims call out to us phrases like "Hitler should have killed all of you" or "You have to kill all the Jews" are common here that the police totally ignores, we submit a complaint, the police registers a complaint, but nothing is done on the matter.

"This time we informed the police that we require immediate treatment. The police chief came to the neighborhood accompanied by a team of investigators who collected the security tapes of homes hoping to find the culprit," said the activist.

However, local community officials claim that it was a Jewish suspect who apparently acted as a result of internal conflict.
