Stabbing attack in Beit Shemesh, Haredi avrech lightly injured

An avrech was stabbed near Havakuk Street in Beit Shemesh by two young Palestinians. The stabbers were neutralized on the scene and are still alive, rescue forces are providing care of the wounded.

The avrech was stabbed in the upper body on Yechezkel street corner Havakuk in Beit Shemesh, and is now fully conscious. There are no other casualties, spokesman of Ichud Hatzalah said the avrech is being treated by volunteers of the Beit Shemesh branch, who are also treating a number of people suffering from anxiety.

An eye witness at the scene said that two Arabs were identified as suspects by residents who tried to call the police and detain them. "They saw people are suspecting them then tried to proceed to another bus stop, and the police was still delayed in coming. Suddenly we saw a police car and we pointed at the suspected terrorists, one of them pulled out a knife and began to attack passers-by, then the policemen got out and shot him, although they tried to escape."

David Leff head of the Beit Shemesh branch of Ichud Hatzalah said: "At the arrival of Ichud Hatzalah volunteers at the scene, they encountered a man who was stabbed in the upper body near a bus station and was fully conscious.

"Security forces acted to neutralize the terrorists, who are at this time lying on the ground. At this stage, the volunteers are attending to people suffering from anxiety and a single casualty suffering from stab wounds. Large forces of police are operating in Beit Shemesh."
