It may be difficult to be Leftists at this sensitive time, when terrorists holding knives and guns are rampaging outside, massacring Jews without distinction, but it's not sure that being outside the mainstream in the Arab sector – is any easier. Yet anything even the smallest, may inspire little hope that not all voices sound the same.
Take Lucy Aharish, a journalist of Arab-Israeli origin, who with noteworthy courage spoke out against the Arab MKs and attacked them harshly.
On the program "Today's Talk" on the network, yesterday (Wednesday) Aharish accused the members of the Arab leadership of fanning the flames and bloodshed.
"It's their responsibility for what is happening here," she said excitedly. "Even if the status quo in Al-Aqsa, for that matter, has been broken, which did not happen, it does not give legitimacy to anyone to get up and kill someone else because a Jew went up, G-d forbid, to pray in G-d's home? I do not understand it or digest it. What G-d wants and allows people to murder innocent people? What girl prays to G-d then takes a knife out of her bag to stab people?"
In Aharish's view, the silence of Arab leaders is very thunderous and shocking for her. The fact that they don't attempt to calm the situation, and even if not accept the other, at least not to cause a more serious destruction, spends her serenity. "Rather than come and say, just a moment friends, when this will all calm down we'll pay a dear price. The second intifada has cost them and the Palestinians such a dear price". One of the MKs on the Joint List, Hanin Zoabi, known for her anti-Semitic approached and was summoned for questioning during the operation Solid Rock for her expressions of racism and incitement, continues to provoke even at this sensitive time, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already contacted the attorney general to open a criminal inquiry against her. One of the videos that run on the network these days is Zoabi's interview, in which she seems to call for Jews to return to Europe. "Here we have mosques and there are muezzins. This is the history of the place. You do not want to accept them? Go away. Netanyahu does not understand. He thinks that this is Europe, so better be in Europe. I accept your feeling of superiority happily and you go where you need to be, Europe".
The program in which Aharish was interviewed, also addressed the controversial mounting of MK Jamal Zahalka, to the Temple Mount, while attacking police and Jewish visitors with curses. "It's the most beautiful to march to Al Aqsa and shout that you do not even believe in G-d and don't have any religion, but the main thing is you say it's ours. What ours do you mean? Is it your parents' house, you own it? What are you talking to me about? You heat up thousands of young people to take to the streets and risk their future. It's not your son who came out to demonstrate, this is not your daughter who went out to demonstrate and those kids paid in their lives, in their blood, and it is their responsibility for what is happening now."
