Documentation from scene: Watch terrorist assault with knife on police officer

A horrifying video footage was revealed today from the stabbing incident on Saturday at the Damascus Gate, where two policemen were injured lightly and another policeman seriously wounded apparently by security forces.




In the stabbing visible on the video, a 19-year-old terrorist from Shuafat refugee camp who underwent a security check at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, stabbed one of the Border Guard fighters, another police officer noticed the occurrence and fired at the terrorist who was killed.
The terrorist handed over his identity card at the request of the officers, then pulled out a knife and managed to stab two police officers - one of them in the neck. The policemen injured were able to draw their weapons and fired at the terrorist, while another force which was nearby and saw the attack also arrived and opened fire together with the police in the incident. Two police officers were injured as a result of the shooting.

Summing up the event, one policeman was seriously wounded - possibly by a security force, another police officer was wounded in a medium condition and another mildly. In total three policemen were evacuated to hospital, one of them in very serious condition.

This morning (Sunday) a young terrorist with a knife arrived near the Lions Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem in order to stab a Jew. The terrorist was killed and the incident ended without casualties. Reporting from the scene indicates that a terrorist with a knife attacked a security guard who was there, but since he was wearing a bulletproof vest the security guard was uninjured and recovered quickly, and Yoav police unit at the scene shot the terrorist dead.

Witnesses say the terrorist came down from the northern Muslim cemetery near the Lions' Gate with his hand in his pocket.

Border police fighters from company C stationed there suspected him, ordered him to stop for inspection and take his hand out of his pocket. He approached the officer with a knife and stabbed a Border Guard officer in his vest. The fighter was not hurt. The fighters responded quickly, shot the terrorist, and disarmed him.
