Technology giant Google is facing a difficult security problem with the car without driver it developed; the problem is called people.

Last month, when one of the driverless cars of Google approached the crosswalk, it did what it was programmed to do and slowed down to allow pedestrians to cross the road. The pedestrian crossed the road safely but the Google-Car was damaged. This is just one of 13 car accidents in which Google has been involved since its launch in 2009. All accidents were mild, and only 6 occurred while the vehicle was autonomous.

According to Google, in all cases the one who caused the accident was human rather than the car itself. In fact, Google's car was programmed so that it must obey the letter of the law - which creates quite a few problems.

Thus, for example, in an experimental trip which took place in 2009, Google Car was unable to cross a highway with 4 lanes since its sensors waited until normal cars and drivers on the road will come to a complete stop, which did not happen in reality.

Google is not the only one dealing with this problem. Design lab researchers at the University of California at San Diego said that one of the biggest problems facing the developing market of driverless cars is a combination of autonomous vehicles in a world where people do not obey the letter of the law.

In other words, the real problem is that Google Car is simply too safe.
