As of this afternoon: light rail disruptions in Jerusalem

Disruption in the light rail activity starting in the afternoon (Tuesday), the reason - a dispute over a collective agreement across the board.

Behadrey Haredim learned that disruptions are expected throughout the day in Jerusalem's light rail traffic as a result of the strike, which broke out by drivers after disagreements between the management and driver's union which did not reach a resolution.

As recalled, two weeks ago drivers went on a surprise strike which was terminated by the court on the grounds that the strike was illegal. Today, they begin a strike after a labor dispute was declared officially as required.

City Pass management stated that: "The drivers and the Histadrut (worker's union) ignore and do not respect the harsh statements of the Regional Court which recently ruled that their conduct is disproportionate, wild and at the expense of the welfare of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Unfortunately, it seems that only a short time after the court decision the committee is trying for the second time in less than a month to harm the routine of city life, while leading a thug and unwarranted struggle at the public's expense."
