The Airport Management will turn to the court against the Airport Authority workers planning to strike tomorrow.
They announced that tomorrow (Sunday) there will be no flights between the hours of 10:00-12: 00 am, in solidarity with IBA workers who are in danger of dismissal.
"It is inconceivable that the government will unilaterally and legislatively wipe out public broadcasting, laying off 1,500 employees," said Chairman of the Union, Pinhas Idan. "This is a black day for all those involved in labor relations".
The Airport Authority's management will turn tonight to the Labor Court to get relief from the court to prevent damage to passengers and to cancel the strike.
The Airport Authority said that following the announcement released to the airlines, companies were approved to bring ahead the majority of flights scheduled between 10:00 to 12: 00 local time. During those hours there are 18 landings scheduled.
"Moving the flights will create an exceptional load for 46 early morning departures excluding landings in a sequence of three hours! Tomorrow (Sunday) is a day of 70 thousand passengers. We recommend those flying to be in touch with airlines and get updates on the Internet website of the IAA.
Transportation Minister Israel Katz, appealed on Friday to the Chairman of the Airport Authority employees and demanded to immediately cancel the planned strike. "I will not allow a situation where passengers will become hostages to different ends. Solidarity among workers is legitimate, but not when it severely harms passengers and the activity of the Authority".
