On Friday night (Israel time), an armed 26-year-old Moroccan citizen, injured three people on the train from Amsterdam to Paris, in the city of Arras in northern France. American soldiers in civilian clothes who were on the train took control of him and he was arrested.

The three passengers who were injured were evacuated to hospitals in the area, two of them in serious condition.

The shooter, a 26-year-old Moroccan, was on the list of terror suspects in Europe's security agencies, and was also known to the French intelligence, and acted out of solidarity with the terrorist organization of ISIS.

After his arrest, a Kalashnikov rifle and a few knives were found in his possession.

Three Americans, including two Marine fighters in civilian clothes, who took over the shooter on the rapid rail, were awarded medals for their bravery in a ceremony at a restaurant in the city of Arras, France.

US President Barack Obama, expressed gratitude to the two Marines who took control of the bomber. Obama thanked them for the "bravery and quick thinking of a few of the train passengers, including US soldiers, who arrested the shooter." The White House statement said that "It is clear that the act of heroism probably prevented an even greater tragedy."
