Netanyahu and Ya'alon in North: "There's no peace in Golan Heights"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, visited today (Tuesday) the Northern Command along with Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot. The three were briefed by Command Commander Gen. Aviv Kochavi. Before their arrival at the Command they held a reconnaissance on the Lebanese border.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "The ruler of Iran, Khamenei, said yesterday, and I quote:" We will take all measures to support all those who fight Israel. "The Foreign Minister of Iran, Zarif, said a few days ago in Beirut, in a meeting with the head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, and I quote "The nuclear deal has created an historic opportunity to pose against the Zionist entity." What we've said all along proved to be correct and accurate. The money which would flow to Iran after the nuclear deal will be used to strengthen the terrorist groups that operate against us, in its name and under its auspices, with the declared aim of destroying Israel.

"I'm here today with the Northern Command, the Defense Minister, Chief of Staff, Commanding General and the commanders on the scene, in order to inspect the deployment of the army to these threats. I was impressed positively, both by the preparations and by determination of IDF commanders and soldiers. IDF is a strong army, the State of Israel is strong, we are prepared for any scenario. Those who try to harm us - we shall harm."

Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said: "I want to commend the IDF commanders, the soldiers in general and especially the Northern Command, for the border security and maintaining the peace along it, despite what is happening across the border, a good professional activity which allows thousands of travelers to travel now across the north.

"The Golan Heights is not quiet, and those who strive for it not to be quiet is the Iranians, who are trying to run proxies to carry out attacks against us. Representatives of the Revolutionary Guards who are in fact waiting for the implementation of the evil agreement being formed with powers to bring more money to Hezbollah, to bring more money to other terrorist organization – both those in the Golan Heights and in the Palestinian arena. Of course, the IDF is preparing, as it has performed up to now, so as not to allow the violation of sovereignty in the Golan Heights, up to now successfully.

"In addition to that, in the West Bank, as you see, there is no quiet. There are stabbing attempts almost daily. Here I want to again to commend the IDF soldiers and Border Police officers who respond quickly and professionally, and hurt those who try to raise their hand or a knife at soldiers or civilians. We will not allow any terrorist cause to harm soldiers and civilians, as has been done until now. In addition, we will continue to take steps against terrorism. This week, I approved the demolition of terrorists' homes - houses of terrorists who have carried out their schemes - as part of the deterrent measures to prevent terrorism."
