Rabbi Berland from his hiding place, "they demolished the house because I avoided them"

Shuvu Banim community leader, Rabbi Eliezer Berland, referred to the destruction of his home in a message to his followers today (Tuesday).

This morning Jerusalem municipality inspectors destroyed illegal building additions which were built at the home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland, on Hachoma Hashlishit Street in Jerusalem. Additional construction was partially destroyed, and destruction will be completed tomorrow.

The porch served as a study and reception room of Rabbi Eliezer Berland while in Israel, until he ran away from three years ago.

In a message from his hideout Rabbi Berland says: "This house for years had an enrollment of Torah and prayer and activities and Torah classes and to destroy this now has no incomparable malice, they just did it as revenge because the Rabbi suddenly evaded from their hands, so they are now looking throughout all authorities how to take revenge on the Berland family ".

"This is simple revenge, without any moral and legal justice. They found the rabbi just to cover up their wickedness. They see the Rabbi and Rebbetzin for years trying to restore the people of Israel to repent and are just looking for ways to stop the spread of Teshuva."

Rabbi concludes: "Now we need to increase troops, and to further increase their activities to show them that they will fail in all their conspiracies."
