Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky arrived this morning (Wednesday), to Jerusalem, on the death anniversary of his father-in law Hgry"sh Elyashiv zt"l, and visited and prayed at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the tent of Avraham and Sarah.

Then Rabbi Chaim spoke with residents of the city, and blessed the children of Talmud Torah Silberman and management of Hebron Baruch Marzel. Marzel also accompanied Hgr"ch throughout the visit.

Immediately after the prayer at sunrise, Hgr"ch left his residence on Rashbam Street in Bnei Brak to Jerusalem, along with his family and associates.

First he came to Har Hamenuchos to the grave of his father in law Rav Elyashiv zt"l, marking three years since his parting, there he prayed and said Kaddish.

Then he went to the Western Wall on the roof of Yeshivat Aish HaTorah, as he does recently. On the yeshiva roof in front of the site of the Temple Hgr"ch tore his garment.

Immediately afterwards he went unexpectedly and without any prior planning in a secured convoy, for a rare visit to the city of Hebron to pray at the grave of his ancestors at the Cave of the Patriarchs, it should be noted Hgr"ch prayed at the place forty years ago, along with his father the Steipler, the Kehillas Yaakov zt"l.
