Coalition crisis: discussion postponed this morning on the subject of state budget

Because of the struggle between the Ministry of Finance and ultra-Orthodox parties, the hearing scheduled this morning (Sunday) for the state budget was postponed. In addition, the ultra-Orthodox representative's threatened decisive measures if the agreements will not be kept; "they are welcome to try us out."

After the cabinet meeting, a meeting was planned on the subject of state budget cuts, following the meeting held last Wednesday.

It will be recalled on Wednesday the coalition party leaders met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Prime Minister, which discussed the budget. The parties did not reach an agreement following the budget cut requirements which were promised to the ultra-Orthodox within coalition agreements.

A senior at Yahadut Hatorah says last night to behadrey haredim that "it is a shame that political factors think that that they do not have to keep agreements. We will require complying with the agreement word for word".

On Thursday this week the minister and chairman Aryeh Deri of Shas referred to the demands to cut the budget not in accordance with the coalition agreement and said: "We said yesterday to the Prime Minister that when we are talking about partnership with cuts for everyone, bring the situation to 2012 before the cuts imposed on us, then we can also bring share of the cuts. But cannot be after that cut us out completely, so now tell us not let your part in cutting. There should be some kind of decency. I am convinced that we will solve the issue.
