Rabbi Shmuel Kaminsky Rosh Yeshiva of Philadelphia and a member of the US Council of Torah Sages, called out to men whose wives and families are staying at the country Mountains of New York.
Every year at this time of summer Orthodox neighborhoods are emptied throughout New York.
Ultra-Orthodox families abandon their homes for their summer houses in the mountains of New York, whilst the husbands stay in the city for their jobs and join their families at the weekend. During this period, the city opens restaurants featuring cooked dinners for the men.
But this arrangement causes quite a few problems which leave the Gedolei Hatorah with sleepless nights and often are ending in the rabbinical courts.
In a precedent-setting this year Member Council of Torah Sages Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetzky, Rosh Yeshiva of Philadelphia decided, to break the silence and call upon the husbands whom their wives and children are vacationing at the country resorts.
In his words Rabbi Kaminsky calls out to the husbands, to be hypersensitive to their wives back home on weekends, to express appreciation for the woman and help her with the kids so you can gain strength the week to come.
"It's true you've had a tough week and you're tired of the heat and humidity which poets in the city and work," says the rabbi, "and you want to rest, but do not forget your wife was alone at the country, worked hard too, given that she had looked after her children alone during the entire week," said Rabbi Kaminsky .
