Racism? 40% say "keeps the quality, sense of inferiority"

A unique survey carried out by the empirical polling firm run by strategist Gamaliel Nati, specializing in the polls in the haredi sector, a representative sample of 500 haredim on 2.7.15, raises new and surprising data about the ultra-Orthodox sector discrimination in educational institutions.

Stock polled well tested and characterized according to strict parameters that define the ultra-Orthodox society. In order to characterize the respondents were tested self-determination of all asked, community affiliation, style of dress during Shabbat and weekdays, place of residence, and a variety of parameters characteristic of the Haredi identity.

Participants were asked whether Lithuanian institutions need to continue the existing filtration system to keep only a certain percent of Sephardic families.

17.7% responded "Yes, it keeps the quality of institutions" [The percentage is slightly higher among men and slightly lower than in women], 18.9% did not understand what the problem was and replied "no racism at all, it is all a sense of inferiority." [This too is a higher percentage in men].

4.8% of respondents offered an interim solution and chose "can raise the percentage of Sephardim to only 50%." 14.1% demanded "government control, is currently screening racial discrimination method," while 44.5% said "I wish Gedolei Yisrael would intervene in the matter", when a high percentage of women is even more significant.

Yoav Laloum organization for Noar Kehalacha, responded: "The figures show that attempts of intimidation and silencing of the transactions corruption do not help. Lower percentages of supporting discrimination are minimal. And more than forty-four percent took out a red card at managers of institutions and sought the intervention of the Gedolei Yisrael who side the ugly. We hope the ears of Gedolei Yisrael are attentive and not blocked.
