Malachi Moshe Rosenfeld hy"d, 26, who was wounded in the shooting attack yesterday on the Alon axis, died of his injuries at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem a short while ago. The deceased was a graduate of Yeshiva Torah and science at Machon Lev. Until the murder he was a student at the Hebrew University.
A shooting attack occurred last night shortly before 23:00, when a vehicle of terrorists waited in the direction of the axis of Shvut Rachel on the Alon roadside and waited for an opportune moment for the attack. Israeli vehicle passed the spot, carrying a group of young residents of the village Kochav Hashachar on their way home, opened fire at the car, and all its occupants were injured in the shooting.
It is estimated that more than 25 bullets were fired toward the car, and that the terrorist cell escaped into one of the villages in the area.
The attacks injured four people; Malachi Moshe Rosenfeld hy"d, who was very seriously injured, and was evacuated by helicopter to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where he underwent surgery during the night and was hospitalized in intensive care. But since his hospitalization he was in critical condition, and as mentioned, he died shortly before.
The victim is the son of Eliezer Rosenfeld, who lost his son Yitzchak 13 years ago in a car accident that occurred as a result of a flood in the Tse'elom stream. The Rosenfeld family are left with seven children.
The funeral of Malachi Moshe Rosenfeld hy"d will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:00 in Kochav Hashachar.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Uri Ariel transferred this afternoon a letter to the Prime Minister demanding the immediate convening of the Security Cabinet this evening in response to a wave of recent attacks. Minister Ariel demands to cancel the easing of the Palestinians and receiving Levy report's conclusions and highlights "lack of appropriate response will deliver a clear message to the bloodthirsty terrorist organizations that Israel's citizens, particularly residents of Judea and Samaria is no man's land. I will not let my hands give that message. "
Two others were injured by gunfire in the lower limbs, and were evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. At about 17:30, after 12 hours the surgery of Shai Ben Nili (34) ended. He is recovering and in stable condition, but still sedated. Chananya ben Shula (26), was hospitalized in fair condition in the surgical department, conscious and in stable condition.
Arab media reported this morning that the attack carried out yesterday by Arab commando unit, terrorism and organized like other lone terrorist attacks recently. During the night, IDF forces arrested a wanted person and weapons were also found, it is not yet clear whether the suspects who were arrested are related to the attack.
Tonight at 20:15 there will be a prayer and protest at the scene of attack by residents of Shilo and Kochav Hashachar.
