A haredi whom half of his peyos was torn off by the officer when he was arrested and handcuffed at the Jerusalem police, sued the police officer, and will be compensated NIS 20,000.

The suit was filed through Itamar Ben Gvir, alleged that after the arrest of the plaintiff, and the plaintiff was taken to the police station by the officer, and the officer began suddenly without any reason to pull the edge of his head and ripped off half of his peyos, when he does so with great violence and seriously undermines the plaintiff.

It was also claimed that the officer then continued his brutal acts, when he pinned the plaintiff to the wall and hit the ribs of the prosecutor with his elbow, and as stated when the plaintiff has been detained, handcuffed and chained to another policeman and helpless.

Not only this even more after the fact to assault the officer dared to claim that the prosecutor attacked him.

Against the police officer was indicted by the Police Investigations Department and the prosecutor filed a civil suit against the officer at the Magistrates Court in Jerusalem.

The plaintiff demanded compensation of NIS 50,000 and claimed through a lawyer Itamar Ben Gvir that the defendants had committed the tort damages, acted in bad faith, did not meet the conditions found in the law, attacked the attack on false, negligent, violated statutory duties and not used as expected from police in charge of upholding the law.

Under the circumstances, the police agreed to compensate the young man, and compromise between attorney Itamar Ben Gvir and Attorney Yael Rud Slitan Jerusalem District Attorney's Office and Attorney Yehuda Shoshan, who represented the police officer, determined that the police will reimburse the amount of NIS 20,000.

Mr. Itamar Ben Gvir said that: "We believe that the amount awarded is sending a message to all police officers and police officer in the State of Israel will not dare to violate human rights of the haredi and religious just because of their views and beliefs, if it had happened in any other country they would be shouting against Anti Semitism, dragging by the peyos and hair is an act unacceptable and humiliating and degrading treatment and it is good the officer and police agreed to pay the sum and wrote a letter of apology to the plaintiff.
