Tonight (Sunday), a resident of Pardes Katz of Bnei Brak, noticed an envelope in a mailbox. He did not look for whom it was intended, and opened it - to his surprise, it contained a white powder.
The resident tossed the envelope into the trash at the entrance and went home. Fifteen minutes later he reported to the 100 police line and told them what had happened and said he was not feeling well. MDA medics and Hatzalah Gush Dan were called to his home and he talked about feeling dizziness and nausea. He was evacuated for tests at Tel Hashomer Hospital.
David Cohen from the Hatzalah branch of Gush Dan arrived on the scene said: "I gave him first aid treatment and then he was evacuated by Magen David Adom ambulance to the hospital when his condition is considered mild."
"Tests found no suspicious findings," said Hatzalah paramedic Menachem Shechter to behadrey haredim, "but following his complaints, we did not take a risk, and he was evacuated by MDA ambulance to the hospital for tests".
The police called firefighting teams and EPA who took the powder for testing to check if it is toxic. Dan District Police launched an investigation.
The envelope was addressed to another tenant in the building, a foreign resident. "It seemed like an official letter with a respectable envelope with writing in English," said one medic.
