Children threw stones at fire fighters: the speaker was injured

Staff who worked in burning thorns in Bayit Vegan were stoned - fortunately except for bruises one fire fighter was injured and no one else was harmed.

Fire fighters from Jerusalem were called to Rajuan Street adjacent to Bayit Vegan neighborhood, after a reported fire at the place.

During the work of the firefighters, a group of children from the neighborhood began throwing cans, plastic and other bottles toward the fire fighters. "We did not take notice, and continued shutdown operations," said Udi Gal, spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Jerusalem who was there to behadrey haredim.



Towards the end of the shutdown work, children aged 7-10 also begun throwing stones at firefighters during firefighting work. "The children shouted, 'Do not quench the fire, but we continued to ignore, even when they pulled at the water pipes."

But at some point one of the stones hit the face of the Udi Gal, and he was wounded on his lips. "I do not care about stone throwers, I know it happens in every sector, but it must not pass in silence," says Gal to behadrey haredim. "My injury will pass in a few days."

He said the children brazenly said to the fire fighters, "We lit the fire, and we'll light it again".
