Arab rioters on Jerusalem Day - six arrested


Jerusalem Day: near the Damascus Gate a few dozen Muslims gathered and clashed with a group of Jews and began to throw stones. After the rioters did not respond to police calls, they were dispersed by the police force without the use of means.

Later, several dozen Muslims clashed again with the police, throwing stones and bottles at them. Four police officers were slightly injured and treated at the scene by paramedics, one policeman was hit with a stone on his head.

At Sultan Suleiman the undercover police officers crew noticed an Arab throwing stones at police. The suspect fled and boarded the bus. The police forces chased him and arrested him on the bus. A young Arab man is suspected of throwing stones on Isawiyya cliffs, and was also arrested.

In Silwan stones were thrown at a vehicle. The driver was not seriously injured. Border Policemen arrested about 17 Arabs suspected of throwing stones.

Overall during the riots that lasted several hours, six Israeli Arabs were arrested, four of them for throwing stones and two others for assaulting police officers.
