Young girl who studies in an orthodox seminary turned to the court to marry and found out she was not Jewish.

Recently a young ultra-Orthodox girl asked to marry. Due to the fact she was a daughter of a convert she was referred to the Netanya Rabbinical Court to clarify her Jewishness and she displayed her mother's conversion document.

Chief Secretary, Elon Arbib, contacted the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, to confirm the document and the answer was not long in coming: "The Court who converted the mother was not authorized to convert. Certificate submitted was not valid and is not recognized by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel."

Court informed her that under the certificate she cannot be filed for permission to marry and it is forbidden to marry until she passes the conversion process.

As soon as the decision came, her parents, sisters and brothers, who were all married, arrived at the Beis Din. This is a distinguished family of dozens of people", said Rabbi Arbib.

Rabbinical Court transferred the family's children and grandchildren for immersion, all in a quiet and dignified manner.

Director General of the Ministry of Justice, Attorney Ami Polmer: "We applaud the Rabbinical Court for their effort and dedication that went into the case to find a solution to the problem.
