Father suspected of abusing released: investigation continues

At the end of investigative activities carried out by the Special Investigation Team of Sharon District Police, and in consultation with the State Attorney's Office, the father suspected of abusing his 3-year-old son, was released under restrictive conditions.

Yesterday (Saturday night) at 22:00pm, an Elad resident was arrested, a father of 8, after the 3-year-old son was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital, and was suspected of abuse.

The child is hospitalized at the intensive ward at Sheba Medical Center - Tel Hashomer in serious condition with multi-system injury.

Following his condition, the child's parents were summoned to the police station, where they denied any abuse. They argue that the boy fell and was injured.

The father was brought this morning to the Rishon Lezion Magistrates Court, where police sought to extend his remand by five days. Judge Michael Karshan partially granted the request and extended his detention until Tuesday.

As stated, this evening the police and the Prosecutor's Office decided to release him early, under certain restrictive conditions. However, the police stressed that the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the case - continues.
