Dozens of people were injured yesterday (Sunday), in unprecedented clashes that erupted during an Ethiopian demonstration at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. 56 policemen and 12 civilians were injured. The wounded suffered head and limb injuries by stones and objects thrown at them.

The protest began as a mass demonstration of thousands of Ethiopians in central Tel Aviv, close to Azrieli Towers. The protesters blocked traffic on the Ayalon Highway. They clashed with the police and riot troops. They called "violent policeman should be inside", "racism" and others.

The thousands arrived at the intersection of Begin-Kaplan in Tel Aviv, where they were joined by many who came identify with them.
