Thousands participated today (Monday) in the funeral procession of the late Sassoon family's children, who were burned to death in the terrible fire disaster Flatbush last Shabbos.
The father, Rabbi Gavriel Sassoon, who was not in the house over the weekend, eulogized bitterly on Mount Hamenuchos. "They are the roses, the tzaddikim, Hashem picks his roses at the height of their beauty - before they go bad. And here he collected seven roses. Why seven? One is not enough? He took seven pure and clean roses. There are no such children who are so pure.

"For 17 years I saw how one flower blossoms and another. It is forbidden to give a hesped in Nissan, but since this is a public sacrifice I think that it may be entirely permissible".
The father sits shiva in their home in Ramat Eshkol in Jerusalem until Wednesday. "I do not know how I can go on from here," he said to those who came, "only because Hashem gives us strength, I am managing to get through the hardship."
