Ramat Eshkol neighborhood of Jerusalem, observed today (Tuesday) a chilling and thrilling spectacle, when Rabbi Avraham Bernstein, who buried 7 descendants after the train accident came to comfort the bereaved father Gavriel Sassoon who just buried seven children.
No eye remained dry when the parents were sitting opposite each other and Reb Gavriel asked Rabbi Avraham Bernstein, "How do you deal with this? How do we move on?"
Rabbi Avraham replied, "With faith, only faith we can move on. It is very difficult, difficult and indescribable. Faith in God is the bridge through which you can go through it all."
Rabbi Gavriel said that as a parent he sent two of his children after school hours to the remedial reading center of Bernstein. Gavriel would come every day to the Institute next to the Bernstein family with his children, there, Mrs. Bernstein would reinforce him with faith and tell him the tragic story, Mrs. Bernstein would take out a photo album of the children and grandchildren and show what they lost.
Rabbi Gavriel said that he saw the plight and the difficulty of the mother who maintains and reinforces the others with pure faith, and this is what stood before his eyes in the recent unbearable days.
