Representatives of United Torah Judaism - MKs Yaakov Litzman, Meir Porush and Moshe Gafni - arrived midday (Sunday) to the President's Residence to recommend to him to impose on Benjamin Netanyahu the next government.
Litzman began by saying: "We recommend Benjamin Netanyahu. No secret that we've been through a very difficult two years in the previous government. Along with religious matters there was also harm to the weak and vulnerable and child allowances. We hope that the government which will be established will be more social. This was a very difficult election. Even the last two years have been difficult for us. We hope that we can open a new page to help the weak and the periphery, and the government will hold an entire term. It is not obvious ".
President Rivlin responded: "It may well be that besides all topics which are familiar to you, political issues and pressures on Israel which will present the next term by our good friends in Europe and the United States require a broad government which the entire world will be bound to show itself and strengthening the Israeli public. The government must be as wide as possible. "
Rivlin asked whether they would support Netanyahu even if the coalition will be even wider than apparent. Litzman said it depends on the identity of the applicants. Gafni said that if there will be changes in the composition of the emerging government "There are those who we will not be willing to sit down with them."
Porush said: "for the dignity of politicians, one id not allowed to run such an idea (AS unity government).צילום: נועם מוסקוביץ, וואלה
