Prosecution filed indictment against Baruch Marzel

Jerusalem Magistrate's Court an indictment was filed against Baruch Marzel following an incident in February last year on suspicion of criminal trespass and assault causing actual injury.

According to the indictment, about a year ago on 08.02.2014 Marzel passed near the house of Issa Amro in Hebron with his friends, on their way to pray at the Cave of the Patriarchs. Marzel entered the yard, while Issa the landlord called him to go out. During the incident, Marzel punched Issa in the face, to the sound of the Arabs' cries who called soldiers, and later struck him twice in the leg, causing red marks.

Baruch Marzel in response to the indictment against him: "It's strange that a week before the election the police files charges with an incident that occurred a few years ago. They retrieve an old file from a drawer of a complaining offender who was thrown even from 'Betselem', the interest is clear, they are afraid and are trying to harm my running in every way.

"The police and the prosecution did not accept the Supreme Court's decision to allow me to run. Even more amazing is that for years they are helpless when it comes to Zuabi but with me their hand is light on the trigger. In spite of them next week will be with G-d's help a Knesset member and will fight the politicization in the law enforcement agencies and the police."

Arraignment was scheduled for May 28 at 10:30am.
