A yeshiva student who beat an elderly woman who was suspected of involvement in a network which attacks children in Nachlaot Jerusalem was sentenced to three years in prison

Yeshiva student who beat an elderly in Nachlaot - goes to jail

Three years later, a Jerusalem resident was sentenced to three years in prison, accused and convicted of violence and threats against a 72-year-old elderly woman in Nachlaot in the city. The defendant acquitted of theft attributed to him in the indictment.

The story began about 3 years ago, a 72 year-old woman was attacked in her home on Azrieli street in Nachlaot, suspected by some residents of the neighborhood that she is part of a network of attackers against neighborhood children and also advocated for Christianity.

According to the indictment, the defendant armed himself with a nylon stocking and gloves, along with others came to the elderly woman. According to the plan, two of them beat the woman and the two will be a thorough search in order to find the basement, tunnels and video record acts committed in the neighborhood. Four masked men entered the house equipped with iron bars, gloves and cuffs.

One of them knocked on the, the complainant opened the door; the four burst in, shoved the complainant until she fell to the ground and beat her vigorously all over her body. The complainant was screaming in pain, they gagged her with a veil around her neck, tied her hands and feet using cable ties and sat her in a chair. Two of them continued to beat her all over her body, the defendant then searched the house which showed nothing.

The four questioned the complainant, who denied that her home has a basement, tunnels or video documentation of harm to children. The four beat the complainant and one of them documented the events in the video. Further, the four threw the complainant on the bed with her face down and left.

The old woman was able to leave the house a few minutes later, whilst tied up and call for help. However, the four decided to come back and hurt her more seriously. When they saw her on the threshold of the house, they pulled her by force and threatened her, put her on a chair, gagged her again with a scarf and tied her hands which were cuffed behind her back and her feet. In between, there was a knock at the door, one of the four opened the door and said to a friend of the complainant who came to bring her a mobile phone, that the complainant showering and shut the door in her face. The complainant groaned in pain and tried to warn her friend not to enter.

The friend was waiting nearby. A short time later, he went back out to the friend, he said the plaintiff felt unwell and unable to see guests, took the phone from her, the friend left and went home. The phone was left at home. At this point, raised four feet of another chair complainant and the defendant hit the plaintiff in the leg using an iron bar repeatedly until broken. The four broke the complainant's hand and continued to beat her. At around 22:00, four of the complainant knocked to the floor, piled on her chair and left the house. The complainant was left lying on the floor unable to move, and bleeding badly bruised up which was discovered by a neighbor.

The defendant was sentenced to 36 months in jail, 12 months probation for 3 years from the date of his release from prison, it will not be violent or property crime that is a felony. More condemned to compensate the complainant NIS 20,000.
