Baruch Dayan Haemes: Yesterday (Monday) at night in London philanthropist Rabbi Kalonimus Kalman Berkowitz, elder and famous proponent of Viznitz, passed away after recently suffering from a disease caused by deterioration in his condition, and he was 88 at his death.
The Rabbi was an elder advocate of Viznitz, and prominent veterans of governors of the city of London, and was known as a seeker of charity and kindness. Every year he would move the public congregation in Viznitz during Tisha B'Av when he would tell of his miraculous survival from the Holocaust.
He was associated with the Vizhnitzer Rebbe and the Toldos Avraham Yitchak Rebbe and contributed large sums to many of its institutions.
In London he would come to the Vizhnitz School and donate the children's lunches.
His funeral will leave at 14:30 from his home in Stamford Hill, London.
