Steimatsky surrendered: won't sell 'Charlie Hebdo' at stores

Following Threats: Steimatzky bookstore network announced that it will not sell the magazine "Charlie Hebdo" at stores.

Steimatzky planned to sell the edition of Charlie Hebdo in Ramat Gan, but MK Masud Ghanaian (UAL) yesterday sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and warned that the state and publishing network will be responsible for the consequences of the sale.

For this reason the network announced that "Steimatzky absolutely advocates freedom of expression. The network has been seeling the magazine for several years and will continue to do so.

"However, the network decided that the sale of the edition in question will not be on sale at the branch, but will be for sale on the Steimatsky website only on Monday at 17:00 until all items are sold out".

Steimatzky denied that the cancellation is related to Islam's threats and said that they decided to do so because the periphery customers complained about the plan to hold a special sale only in Ramat Gan, and therefore it was decided to offer the edition for sale online only.
