Baruch Dayan Haemes: Rabbi of Kfar Chabad Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi of blessed memory, passed away at the age of 71.
His bed was placed today in the main synagogue Beit Menachem Kfar Chabad. It appears that the funeral journey will take place tomorrow at 10:00 am, to allow his children who are abroad to participate. He will be buried beside his father in Tiberias.
Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, fell ill during a trip. The Rabbi had to pull over and call for help. He suffered a heart attack and lost consciousness.
During the evacuation, MDA carried out in lengthy resuscitation and returned his pulse. The Rabbi was brought in a difficult condition to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, where he passed away.
Rabbi Ashkenazi was on his way to pray in Tiberias in the north, on the anniversary of his father's death, Rabbi Moshe Ashkenazi zt"l, who is buried in Tiberias.
Yachad Party headed by MK Eli Yishai responded: "We express deep sorrow over the death of the righteous Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Ashkenazi, of blessed memory, local rabbinic authority of Kfar Chabad. Rav zt"l, a member of Chabad rabbis Court, was a role model, admired and respected in many circles and proudly represented his followers. Woe to us for the loss of lover of the country, a man of grace and lover of Israel.
