The court extended by five days the arrest of an Arab, 15, who

Arrest of the teenager suspected of stabbing 21-year-old yeshiva student near the Damascus Gate, was extended by five days.

Jerusalem Magistrate's Court brought tonight (Saturday), a young 15-year old resident of the North, on suspicion of stabbing a Jerusalem yeshiva student, and a resident of Boro Park.

On Friday, the hospital said that his condition is stable. "There is injury to the lung being treated by drainage". It was reported that the young man was admitted for further treatment and recovery.

The attack took place on Thursday, 21-year-old yeshiva student resident of Boro Park Brooklyn borough of New York, USA, went alone on foot to the Western Wall - on his birthday. At 19:15 or so, on Sultan Suleiman Street near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, he was approached by a 15 year old Arab, a resident of the North and was struck in the back with a screwdriver.

The young man was evacuated in moderate to severe condition to Shaare Zedek Hospital in the city, where he was treated and hospitalized. After stabbing the suspect fled into the Old City, David space Border Guard officers closed the Old City to perform extensive search.

During the night, MABAT 2000 police (closed circuit photographic system which "covers" the way to the Western Wall) identified the suspect when he's in the valley street in the Old City. The police reported that to forces in the field - and he was arrested. As mentioned above, this evening he was remanded for five days.
