Orthodox unity? Behadrey Haredim learned that the tycoon Yisrael Shlomo Rechnitz came to Israel, in order to bring peace to the Haredi community. Sources familiar with the matter say that the political process may dramatically mature in the coming days.
Rechnitz came to Israel with his right hand (and his partner) Dovi Blonder, and he has already managed to meet with the outgoing Shas chairman Aryeh Deri, who came to the meeting with his wife Yaffa. Blonder spoke with Yaffa about her husband's return to the leadership of Shas.
Deri himself sat for three hours for a one on one meeting with Rechnitz who came to the scene with businessman Moshe Mandelvici, a real estate developer from Lakewood, and Freddie Friedman. Deri himself arrived with his associates Yisrael Moshe Reich and Zvi Einrab.
One of the participants at the meeting said to Behadrey Haredim that "with the help of the good people who came especially to Israel to make peace between the camps there may be a dramatically political move in the coming days."
Recall a few weeks ago it was announced that Shlomo Rechnitz contributed NIS 44,517 to Benjamin Netanyahu as a donation for the Likud leadership race. Rechnitz is also famous for his support in the Torah, and his closeness to Hgray"l and is known as a composer of Hasidic songs.
