Kiryat Yearim: a 3-month died of SIDS

A 3 month old baby lost consciousness at the home of her babysitter on Hazayit Street in Kiryat Yearim, Hatzalah volunteers and paramedics performed lengthy resuscitation - but unfortunately she was declared dead.

Apparently this is a symptom of SIDS.

Chaim Dreyfus, a volunteer of Hatzalah at the scene, said: "The baby was at the babysitter's home and when I got the place she was unconscious. I performed CPR along with other volunteers until the arrival of Mobile Intensive Care Unit teams. We were told that the child was put down for a nap and unfortunately was detected later without a pulse and breathing. This event is difficult and circumstances of the case will be reviewed, but this is a symptom of SIDS ".

The funeral will be held within the next few hours longer, so there will be time to bury the baby before the winter storm begins.
