No Tekuma: Uri Ariel will remain in Jewish Home

A severe blow to MK Eli Yishai: Despite the efforts of Minister of Construction Uri Ariel, the members of the center of 'Tekuma' decided to maintain the alliance with the Jewish Home, and not to retire in favor of the common run with Yishai's party • Following the decision, Rabbi Dov Lior is expected to pass the support of 'Tekuma' to Ha'am Itanu; MK Orit Sitruk will be placed in a realistic position • Bennett and Ben Dahan welcomed the decision of the Centre

Tekuma party's central committee members confirmed late at night (Saturday night) the continuation of the partnership with the Jewish Home party in the new NRP, so that places 2, 9, 14 and 18 shall be assigned to members on behalf of the Tekuma party. The party's Central Committee decided that the party will retain an independent framework within the joint list.

Minister Ariel presented to members of the Center the pros and cons of a joint run with the Jewish Home or with Eli Yishai's new party. Minister Ariel welcomed the results and said: "I believe we will all recruit to get the best results for the benefit of the Right and the Jewish Home".

Minister Ariel opened by saying: "We could bring you a signed agreement and ask you to confirm or not to confirm. It works this way with Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid and the movement of Livni or with Lieberman. I must emphasize here that I would accept every decision decided by the center and I will enlist to any task which will be decided on by the Centre, whether I like it or not. I'm sure that the members are concerned with the good of Am Israel, the Torah of Israel and the Land of Israel. Be loyal to the way, listen, I'm sure that the decision would be for the common good and strengthen the things we believe in."

Despite his words, besides the blow to MK Eli Yishai, who would have to try and break the barrier of the threshold alone, it is a loss to Uri Ariel and Rabbi Dov Lior – who over the last few days lead the attempt to split Tekuma from the Jewish Home.
