Two days since the dramatic resignation of Interior Minister Eli Yishai of Shas and the establishment of a party under the name 'Yachad', it turns out there are cracks in the support from his spiritual patron – Hagaon Rabbi Meir Mazuz, Rosh Yeshiva Kise Rachamim, who is considered the new party's 'Maran'.

His son, Rabbi Gideon Mazuz, protests what he claims they have dragged his father into a dispute, and expresses full support for the Shas movement. According to him, his father will be very sorry for the outcome, as it was with Rabbi Haim Amsalem who founded the Am Shalem party.

In a video interview with Behadrey Haredim the son of Hagaon Rabbi Meir, Rabbi Gideon Mazuz, attacks the establishment of the new party and declares open support for Shas.

"I do not like at all what they are doing, and every time they did it whether with Amsalem, or with Amnon Yitzhak, they only lost votes, I just hope it will not be like that again, and my father (Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Mazuz, M.W.) will regret it, as he regretted with Haim Amsalem".

To the question of what will vote in the elections and who he thinks deserves to get the vote, Rabbi Gideon Mazuz said, "I vote for Shas, show everyone, just Shas, only Shas".

Behadrey Haredim also learned that when Hagaon Rabbi Meir Mazuz arrived at the crucial meeting on Monday with a member of the Council of Torah Sages Hagaon R' Shimon Baadani, there was a small commotion outside the building on Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak, since Rabbi Gideon Mazuz scolded his father's chauffeur that he bothers and drags his father the Rav to concern himself with things which are distant from him.

In an interview last night on the main edition of Kol Barama, Hagaon Rabbi Meir Mazuz said: "The Council of Sages is entitled to do whatever they want, they can go against me and Eli Yishai, but I'm not afraid of it. They came out against Rabbi Ovadia Yosef at the time, too. I'm not alone, there are other rabbis with me".

"I ask all parties not to use violence, I saw that Yishai told his activists not to talk against Shas and whoever speaks against Shas will be fired. The other side must say the same thing."

"He can not work in his place, there were arguments and disagreements. In this case it is written "please part from me", but that was not the reason, one of the reasons was that many said they do not want to vote for Shas, because it tends to the left and the chairman Aryeh Deri said he would go with Herzog".

Is this the first crack in the spiritual support of the new party of Eli Yishai? Behadrey Haredim will continue to update.
