Sunday: decisive meeting between Deri and Yishai

Yesterday (Wednesday), MK Eli Yishai met with a member of the Council of Torah Sages of Shas Hgr"sh Baadani, as a continuation of their previous encounter, in an attempt to bring peace within the movement.

At the meeting Hagr"sh told Yishai that the Council of Sages requires him to deposit a letter of commitment to resign - if a meeting of the council will decide he must do so.

Hgr"sh Baadani continued and repeated Shas Chairman's proposal, that he will be in second place on the list, will serve as a senior and will be involved in the Shas educational network.

He added that Yishai will announce that he accepts the sole authority of the Council of Torah Sages.

Associates of Eli Yishai said in response: "Solutions brought by Deri through Hgr"sh Baadani was to ridicule him. He simply wants Yishai to be a working slave in exchange for anything. True, he promised second place, but he did not promise to maintain, and did not give any guarantees for his promises. "

However, Deri's associates claim that in the past MKs have deposited similar letters by the Council of Sages, and those who did not do so were not assigned on the Knesset list. Among other things, they point out some of the names of MKs required by Yishai himself to do so.

Deri called Yishai for another meeting for Sunday, trying to work things out, but those close to Yishai respond that "what appears at present, it is unclear whether there any point to hold the meeting."
