Security sources believe tonight (Sunday), that the Syrian regime would not dare to fire deep into Israel in retaliation held in its territory but preparing for the event of a comment at the Lebanese Syrian border.
Syrian television reported that Israeli warplanes attacked three targets in the suburbs of Damascus, including two military airfields near the international airport in A-Dimas. Syrian radio published documentation of the Israeli attack in Syria.
According to Miadin network in Lebanon Israeli warplanes destroyed a convoy of Hezbollah, at around 17:00.
According to the report, six Israeli warplanes circled the South Lebanon about an hour before the attack in the southern Daraa and Quneitra, Syria. Network "Al-Manar" of Hezbollah claimed that Syrian air defense systems fired at Israeli planes and prevented them from completing the action.
The Syrian regime claimed that the attacks are designed to help the rebels, "to raise the morale of terrorist organizations." Syrian Foreign Ministry attacked Israel and called on the UN to impose sanctions on Israel.
Although Israel has not confessed to the attack, Knesset members from the opposition criticized the attack, saying the attack was intended to serve political objectives. MK Yifat Kariv from Yesh Atid told Channel 2 that, "Netanyahu fails to form an alternative coalition and decided to choose the path of terror and intimidation and turn on the Middle East, until last week, a full-fledged member of a coalition. Mr. Prime Minister, this time it will not work".
MK Tamar Zandberg (Meretz) also remarked: "Has Netanyahu began his election campaign in the attack in Damascus?"
MK Moshe Mizrahi (Avodah) was less determined on the matter, saying: "At this time, all is related even if it is not related. Hopefully by the end of the election no one will 'go crazy'.
