Public figures and celebrities recruited to WIZO's campaign to stop domestic violence, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women on -25.11

MK Dov Lipman, MK Orit Struck, Yishai Lapidot, Dov Heller, Vered Ovadia, Attorney Avishag Raibed, choreographer Mickey Hayat, Yael Kliger, PR figure Miri Rahimi, journalist Shiffy Charitan joined the campaign turning to men to combat domestic violence and had their pictures taken with the slogan "do not give a hand to violence against women".

Towards the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, leader of WIZO a social, first of its kind, aims to encourage responsibility of male problem of domestic violence and to change the perception that the phenomenon is extreme, in the margins and is related to women only. This move is aimed to raise the awareness that this is a social problem broad and difficult, the entire community to fight it. In Israel each year there are 200 thousand families in the cycle of violence in the family and 600 thousand children witnessing violence.

As part of the move to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a social digital campaign was brought under the slogan "do not give a hand to violence against women". The campaign calls to men and women who are taking part in domestic violence, to condemn the phenomenon, not to lend a hand to violence, not justified nor stand idly in presence of manifestation of violence against women or children.

Many opinion leaders have raised the profile of their Instagram and Facebook with a selfy image campaign with a slogan written on the palm of their hand. Between the public and famous who participated: Minister Gilad Arden, MKs Nachman Shai, Eitan Cabel, Ofir Akunis, David Tzur, singer Mosh Ben Ari and Kobi Aflalo, actors Zion Baruch, Eli Finish, Dvir Benedek, Didi Harari, Sassi Keshet, Oded Menashe, chefs Aviv Moshe, Saul ben Aderet and Yisrael Aharoni; Photographer Ziv Koren, Eliav Alaluf digital mentor, Eldad Gilad Big Brother Finalist, producer Moti Reif and more.

Campaign also enlisted famous women such as health minister, Yael German, Absorption Minister Sofa Landver, and Chairman of the Committee on the Status of Women, MK Dr. Aliza Lavie, MK Shelly Yachimovitch, MK Zahava Gal-On, Shelly Gafni, Michal Haktana, Esti Zakheim, Yael Bar Zohar, Shirley Buganim, Natalie Dadon and more.

According to Gila Ashrat, Chairperson of WIZO Israel, "the problem of domestic violence is a problem of the entire family! We appeal to both men to join the fight against it and consider themselves part of the public which believes in the equality and aims to change. Men can bring about the change that will join the call against violence, convince other men to change their ways and get treatment.
