Yemen: Minister received an award and dedicated it to Jews
Yemen's culture minister won a human rights organization prize, she chose to dedicate it to the local Jewish community

Yemen's Minister of Culture, Arwa Othman, won human rights prize and dedicated it the local Jewish community.
Arwa Othman was awarded the prize by the organization Human Rights Watch, the struggle against extremism within the country and discrimination against women. Last Thursday in Sanaa, the minister said after winning the award, that the award is dedicated to her brothers and sisters from the Jewish community. "The AP news agency reported.
Othman stood before a conservative Salafis attack because of her work for human rights and support for the Jewish community.
Jewish Agency figures show that less than 90 Jews are living in Yemen. Half of them live in the reserved area protected by the US embassy in the capital Sanaa. They are in danger from Shi'ite and Sunni extremists.
