Sabbath protest in Jerusalem: Hundreds of people demonstrated on Friday night during Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv next to the restaurant on Bezalel Street in the city.
Amongst the participants were also fifty secular residents, whom the restaurant operations during the Sabbath hurt their feelings.
Opposite them demonstrated a small minority of Meretz activists who managed to cause a provocation, after the organizers of the protest did not want to be into drawn riots and requested a peaceful prayer protest.
The initiators of the protest Yitzchak Pindrus and Shlomo Resenstein attended the prayer as well as Rabbi Yidler and Rabbi Yosef Rosenfeld from the Committee for the Sabbath.
Prayer was entertained by brothers Yonathan and Aaron Razel, Shloime Carlebach style in honor of his yahrzeit day.
City Councilman Yitzchak Pindrus spoke this evening with Behadrey Haredim and said: "This is the beginning of a struggle for the character of Jerusalem and it's only going to grow. The feeling during prayer was that there is a lot of light that repels the darkness".
Meanwhile, tomorrow (Sunday) will take place in an emergency meeting of the United Torah Judaism faction in the Jerusalem municipality where Sabbath desecration discussion will take place.
