French Jewish community leaders recruit on behalf of Safed

Following the city of Lille's decision to freeze its relations with Safed - the French Jewish community officials will arrive tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:00am in Safed to examine investment options in the city.

About a month ago the Safed municipality received a letter from the center of municipal power about Lille's decision to freeze relations with Safed, following pressure from pro-Palestinian officials due to the events of "Solid Rock".

The Municipal Government Center noted that the success of the pro Palestinians will snowball and other cities in France will cut ties with their counterparts in Israel.

In an attempt to cool the atmosphere, French officials have suggested recently, to hold a meeting between Mayor of Safed Ilan Shohat and mayor of Nablus, which is also in Lille's alliance of cities.

It should be noted that the alliance between the cities of Lille and Safed is fertile in the field of music, musicians' excavation exchanges and in the field of medicine (study of liver in the Ziv Medical Center and in the faculty of medicine).
