Under heavy police guard, was buried yesterday (Thursday), in the cemetery of Saladin in East Jerusalem, Mu'ataz Hijazi, who shot Yehuda Glick.
Police conducted prior to the funeral a large reinforcement of border police, who blocked the road and prevented people from approaching. Only 45 of the Hijazi family members were allowed to attend the funeral, which ended relatively quietly and lenders dispersed.
The body of Mu'ataz Hijazi, the suspect who tried to kill Yehuda Glick yesterday, was transferred to the Abu Tor neighborhood of Jerusalem tonight, and then the funeral was held.
Islamic Jihad man Mu'taz Hijazi, arrived at work yesterday at 'Begin Heritage Center', without any checks and apparently carrying a gun. At the end of the shift, he went outside and waited with his motorcycle for Glick. When Glick arrived he made sure of his identity and fired four bullets at point blank range. Hijazi fled to a relative in Abu-Tor.
A few hours after the attack, in a joint operation by the police and the Shin Bet, SWAT Force arrived this morning at Abu Tor neighborhood to stop Mu'ataz Hijazi, during activity his motorcycle and gun were detected. With the arrival of the forces at the home he was staying locked up in, Hijazi shot at the soldiers who returned fire and killed him.
Family members and colleagues argue that the terrorist didn’t shoot Glick "shahid did not fire, he was killed in cold blood," they declared after receiving the body.
