Ashkenazi Rabbi of Jerusalem promised that he will work for unity. In a first announcement to his supporters Rabbi Stern, who was elected this evening (Tuesday), as rabbi of Jerusalem said that he will continue in the path of Rabbi Kook, the first rabbi of Jerusalem, by the love of Israel and the Torah of Israel.
"I will work to heal the rifts in the city," he said, "I will unite the public and lead to a process of rapprochement."
Rabbi Stern thanked the mayor Nir Barkat and Rabbi Haim Drukman who escorted him throughout the way.
