After months of support of the conversion law by MK Elazar Stern of Hatnua, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to pull his hands from the law, and to adopt the position of the ultra-Orthodox. This may develop acute coalition crisis –News 2 revealed tonight (Monday).

According to the report, Prime Minister reported to the Chairman of Hatnua MK Tzipi Livni, if the law is brought up at the Knesset he will vote against and will overthrow it after the Prime Minister realized that the move will lead to the Haredi party's resections divorce.

According to the report, Netanyahu told party leaders that political logic to sever the link between ultra-Orthodox and Likud as next month is likely to find himself without a coalition.

Tzipi Livni responded that: "We will continue to promote the conversion bill. Whether the decision will not be promoted in government, promote the law in the Knesset together with liberal partners, those who are not Haredi ultra-Orthodox Jews and want to enable young people who live here and serve in the army the opportunity to realize their strong desire to convert, marry and live here us with respect.
