Last month, a health worker in Nigeria was admitted to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem following the concern that she contracted the Ebola virus. Shaare Zedek also decided not to take risks, due to the fact that the woman came from a country where the virus is relatively common, and decided to put her in solitary confinement in a pressure chamber. At the end of tests it was revealed that she was not infected with the virus.
On Friday, the first such drill in dealing with the Ebola epidemic, particularly a case in which Ebola patients will be flying to Israel, was held at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. The drill, which was attended by members of the Airport Authority, MDA, Ministry of Health, Population and police director, practiced among other things, questioning, treatment and transportation of patients.
