Disaster in Modi'in Illit: avreich fell to his death

Disaster on the eve of Succos • Yosef Sheinker, 30 years old avrech from Modiin Illit, was fixing his hideaway laundry porch, fell several floors below and was critically injured • taken to Tel Hashomer hospital unconscious where he was pronounced dead • Testimony: "We came to treat him - he was bruised all over his body, unconscious"

Disaster tonight (Monday) in Modi'in Illit: Yosef Sheinker z"l, 30 year old local resident, who was fixing a laundry porch, fell and was killed.

Tonight at 21:23 pm MDA Ayalon center received a report of a man who fell on Shaagat Arye Street in Modi'in Illit and wounded. MDA teams and Hatzala drives who arrived rescued him from the roof he fell on and gave him first aid treatment. The 30 year old man was evacuated in extremely serious condition to Tel Hashomer Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An initial investigation of the Shai District Police indicated that the deceased, local resident of Modiin Illit, fell while repairing a washing hiding on the third floor. Investigation continues until a final answer.

Shmuel Rosengarten Head of United Hatzalah, Modi'in Illit, said: "This is a man who was in the middle of working on the porch of his home on the 6th floor and he fell to the 4th floor, volunteers gave him primary health care and when they reached the scene the man was unconscious and severely beaten all over his body, after primary care on the scene he was taken to hospital in critical condition."

MDA paramedic Uri Gavriel and MDA Senior paramedic Zevulun Kati who arrived in a mobile intensive care unit told: "Neighbors there said a man fell from a height of five floors, from the second floor to minus 2, and landed on the roof terrace. Assisted by MDA drives we rescued him from the roof complex, he was unconscious with severe multi-system injuries, we gave him primary health care area and began a quick evacuation to the hospital, his condition deteriorated on the way and we gave him CPR until hospital where doctors had to confirm his death."

According a the report which turned out to be mistaken the avrech was busy building a sukkah. United Hatzalah once again warn those involved in preparations for Succos to be careful to comply with the safety rules for fear of disasters and injuries.
