Drama in Tzanz: Rebbe fainted and taken for treatment

Drama on the night of Yom Kippur in Tzanz: Tzanzer Rebbe fainted and was taken to the hospital.

At 12:15am, towards the end of prayer, the Rebbe fainted in his place and was taken in a wheelchair to Laniado Hospital nearby. Consequently, the Hassidim remained to pray for his recovery until 2:00 at night, when one of the gabbaim came to update about his condition.

On Yom Kippur morning the Rebbe was released after tests during the night, and after receiving a transfusion for fear of cardiac event.

According to doctors, the collapse is the result of excitement and weakness. In the drosha the Rebbe gave he had said that he is very weak and excited, after a difficult year for Klal Yisrael. Tzanz Hassidim further note that the Rebbe is accustomed to bless, after his own children – orphans, and this year he blessed 17 orphans.

The Rebbe went up to Mussaf and Neila as usual, and Tzanz finished their prayer fifteen minutes after the time of Rabbeinu Tam.
