Shock in religious council of Kiryat Ata: Sephardic Chief Rabbi of the city, Rabbi Eliyahu Maimon, rage in the religious council, turned over furniture, broke equipment and verbally attacked the secretary and director of the kashrus department. Secretary needed medical assistance, according to the Council's employees in a conversation with NEWS 0404.
The employees further tell that claims of department employees threatened to kill the Ashkenazi chief rabbi of the city, Rabbi Shlomo Diskin.
Director of Kashrus, Rafi Illouz, told 0404 related news: "It all started when Rabbi Maimon came this morning to the Council Secretariat and demanded a kosher certificate to sign it. Secretary clarified that she will seek the approval of the director of the department, according to the procedure, but then Rabbi began a rampage.
