Rabbi Melamed blames: "Netanyahu deceived me"

In the Drasha of Shabbat Shuva delivered by Rabbi Zalman Melamed, Rosh Yeshiva of Beit El and a leading religious Zionist rabbi, he attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said: "Netanyahu prevents the last signature on the approval of 300 housing units promised me personally in an agreement, following the destruction of the Ulpena neighborhood. I did my share and he deceived me."

As part of the Shabbat Shuva Drasha in Halacha and Agaddah, in which about 1,000 people participated in the Great Synagogue 'Avraham Ohavi' in Beit El, Rabbi Melamed revealed that about ten days ago he wrote a strongly worded letter to Netanyahu, in which he noted that he is still waiting to see why Netanyahu is delaying the last signature for the last six months.

It should be noted that although Rabbi Melamed retired from the settlement's rabbinate and left himself only the role of Rosh Yeshiva, he acceded to the pleas of community leaders and gave the Drasha.

Harel Cohen, spokesman for the Ulpena neighborhood, says this evening in a talk with Behadrey Haredim: "There is no doubt that sooner or later they will build 300 units. Netanyahu must choose whether he wants to be remembered in history as destroying the Ulpena neighborhood and built 300 apartments instead, or someone who destroyed the neighborhood and prevented the construction of 300 apartments which he himself promised - and which were built only after someone better replaced him."
