Crisis in the government worsens: Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided to freeze the Zero VAT Act, initiated by Finance Minister Yair Lapid, as reported by Channel 10.

The Prime Minister has decided to freeze the promoting of the VAT Act in the Knesset, until agreement is reached on controversial points between the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yair Lapid.

Today the Zero VAT Law passed in the Finance Committee. The next step of the law is the House Committee, but that is controlled by the Likud.

MK Yariv Levin, chairperson of the committee, said that with Netanyahu's agreement he will not allow discussion of the law by the committee until disputes with Lapid are resolved.

According to Levin, the Likud worked so far because of coalition commitments to promote the law with Yesh Atid, but at the moment the coalition situation is uncertain and the Likud will suspend its support of the law until further notice.

Yesh Atid were outraged and told Channel 10 that "this is blackmail, which apparently may be grounds for an explosion."
